Effective and transparent procedure for accreditation of legal education programmes as a prerequisite for the quality of legal education

Project goal

To study the results of accreditation of educational programmes in certain specialities by the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance (NAQA) and determine the impact of these accreditations on the quality of legal education. To develop recommendations for improving the accreditation process to ensure a high level of quality of legal education in Ukraine.
 

Project objectives

  • Analysis of accreditation practices - assessment of current accreditation procedures of legal education programmes, determining the effectiveness and transparency of these procedures.
  • Assessment of legal and regulatory framework - study of the current legal acts regulating the accreditation process to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collection and analysis of accreditation data - creation of a database of accreditation cases to analyse the medium-term impact on the quality of legal education.
  • Formulation of recommendations - development of recommendations to improve the accreditation procedures for educational programmes of legal specialisation.
     

Project tasks

  1. To develop research methodologies for assessing accreditation procedures for legal education programmes in Ukraine, as well as for examining the regulatory framework for the accreditation of educational programmes.
  2. To analyse accreditation cases in the specialities 081 "Law", 293 "International Law" and 262 "Law Enforcement".
  3. To examine regulatory legal acts.
  4. To conduct in-depth interviews.
  5. To prepare analytical documents.
  6. To identify typical problems that are discovered during accreditation examinations.
  7. To analyse the development of legal training programmes, taking into account the recommendations made by the experts.
  8. To develop and publish a report based on the results of the analysis, which highlights the key aspects of transparency and effectiveness of accreditation procedures and formulates recommendations for policy improvement.
