On 25 July 2024, the State Film Agency of Ukraine published a list of applicants participating in the competition for the selection of members of the State Film Support Council

Along with the list of applicants, referring to the introduction of martial law in Ukraine, representatives of the State Film Agency noted that ‘the meeting of the competition commission will be held without the participation of media representatives. Video and audio recordings of the competition commission meeting will be posted on the Internet.

Please note that in accordance with clause 32 of the Procedure for Establishing the State Film Support Council, approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 195 dated 21 March 2018 (the ‘Procedure’), representatives of the mass media may attend the meetings of the competition commission. The competition commission meetings are broadcast in real-time on the Internet. The link to the live broadcast is posted on the official website of the State Film Agency.

Therefore, we urge the State Film Agency and representatives of the Competition Commission to comply with the current legislation and allow media representatives and the public to attend the meetings of the Competition Commission, thus ensuring transparency and publicity of all stages of the competitive selection.
