MPs propose to increase administrative liability for improper installation or use of vehicle number plates
According to the draft law No. 7365, it will be punishable for a driver to drive or operate a vehicle
- without a number plate;
- with a licence plate that does not belong to the vehicle or does not meet the requirements;
- with a dirty licence plate, if it is impossible to identify the symbols of the licence plate from a distance of 20 metres.
Driving or operating a vehicle with illegally installed number plates will also be punishable:
- ARMED FORCES OF UKRAINE;
- National Guard of Ukraine;
- State Border Guard Service;
- State Emergency Service;
- State Special Transport Service;
- State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection;
- National Police of Ukraine.
No licence plates will be issued when registering a vehicle. Instead, they will be assigned. This means that the owner will have to buy the number plates, i.e. the assigned letter and number combination, later. At the same time, such number plates must comply with the established standards and requirements.
