Corruption in the transport sector has an extremely significant impact today, because during the war, corruption takes not only money but also Ukrainian lives

Our analyst Andriy Klymosiuk spoke about anti-corruption expertise as an effective mechanism for combating corruption in transport. The expert discussion was held at the Law Faculty of the National Aviation University

The ILI has been conducting anti-corruption expertise of legislation for 8 years. We have found that the Committee on Transport and Infrastructure is one of the leaders in terms of the smallest number of corruption-related draft laws.

You might think that this is due to the effective work of MPs and high-quality draft laws. Spoiler alert: this is not the case at all. It's just that a member of the Transport Committee receives few bills. In short, those who do not write anything do not write about corruption risks in laws. You can read more about how many bills each committee has developed in our study.

We also found that 90% of the corruption risks contained in the laws are implemented in practice.
