More than ten yachts worth more than $2.25 billion have already been seized by the United States, EU countries and voluntary allies
Bloomberg writes about it.
When the $325 million yacht Amadea, linked to Russian billionaire Suleiman Kerimov, sailed to Fiji in April, the captain may have thought he had found a safe haven.
"However, a week after Amadea's arrival, the Fijian authorities detained the yacht at the request of the US government, which claimed that Kerimov, who was sanctioned for his links to Putin, was the ship's real owner. As a result, the United States won a number of legal actions and confiscated the vessel, sending it to Honolulu," the report said.
According to the publication, more than ten yachts worth more than $2.25 billion were arrested by the United States, EU countries and voluntary allies such as Fiji.
