The administration of US President Joe Biden is discussing with Congress the possibility of imposing sanctions on Russia that would be similar to declaring it a state sponsor of terrorism.

This was reported by Yevropeiska Pravda.

According to US State Department spokesman Ned Price, if Russia is declared a state sponsor of terrorism, Washington's partners may suffer, and the supply of humanitarian aid to Ukraine will be hampered.

‘There are steps that we have taken and steps that we can take and are discussing with Congress that would have similar consequences to those provided for in the State Sponsors of Terrorism Act without the unintended consequences,’ Price said.

He added that there are more targeted approaches the US could take to hold the Russian army and leadership accountable.
