President Volodymyr Zelenskyy proposes that the Verkhovna Rada approve the decision of the National Security and Defence Council to impose sanctions on Russia.

Draft resolution No. 7640 was registered on the parliament's website on 6 August, Ukrainian News reports.

The corresponding package of restrictive measures consists of ten points:

  • A ban on the withdrawal of capital from Ukraine in favour of individuals and legal entities in Russia;
  • Suspension of permits for the use of subsoil to persons associated with the Russian Federation;
  • A ban on participation in privatisation and lease of state property;
  • Ban on public procurement of goods, works and services related to the Russian Federation;
  • Prohibition of entry of vessels and aircraft associated with the Russian Federation into the territorial sea of Ukraine, its inland waters and ports;
  • Prohibition on the acquisition of securities issued by entities associated with the Russian Federation;
  • Prohibit the issuance of permits and licences by the National Bank of Ukraine for investments in the Russian Federation;
  • Termination of cash withdrawals on payment cards issued by entities associated with the Russian Federation;
  • Prohibition on the transfer of technology and intellectual property rights to persons from the Russian Federation;
  • A ban on the acquisition of land ownership by persons associated with the Russian Federation.

As a reminder, it is proposed to establish a Sanctions Policy Bureau under the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine.
