Almost every Ukrainian dreams of taking money to support the army from Russians and supporters of the war.

Of course, the idea of taking away property from all those who support the war is heartwarming, but there is one caveat. Unlike the assets of the Russian Federation as a state, the confiscation of Russian private assets poses a greater legal challenge.

Last week, MPs passed a relevant law. How will this mechanism work? The law introduces a new type of sanction: the confiscation of assets owned by individuals or legal entities, as well as assets that they can directly or indirectly dispose of, to the state.
