ILI legal analyst Andriy Klymosiuk spoke on the air of Ukrainian Radio about the situation with confiscation in Ukraine and in the world
Losses from the full-scale invasion of Russia reach more than $750 billion. Confiscated Russian funds are one of the main sources of funding for Ukraine's reconstruction.
‘The confiscation process has begun... Ukraine must be a leader in this process and show the whole world that confiscation of Russian funds is possible and effective,’ explained Andriy Klymosiuk.
He noted that in May the National Security and Defence Council seized assets of the Russian Sberbank, International Reserve Bank and Prominvestbank. More than UAH 3 billion went to the state budget of Ukraine. So far, this is the only case of confiscation of Russian state assets.
Also, as of February 2023, the High Anti-Corruption Court has issued 11 decisions on the confiscation of assets of those responsible for the war.
How can the Ukrainian authorities make the confiscation process more efficient? What is happening with similar procedures in the world? Find out more in the interview with Andriy Klymosyuk.
