Tetiana Khutor, Head of the Institute of Business Integrity, shared her professional opinion on how to continue doing business and developing Ukraine's economy during the war
At the Anti-Corruption Week 2022, the UN Global Compact in Ukraine presented the collection ‘Business Integrity Lessons from a War Zone’, which contains tips on doing business transparently in times of uncertainty.
Tetiana Khutor's advice on doing business in the context of legislative transformations:
1. Be careful when choosing counterparties. The new sanctions legislation will have a very wide range of impact. The blocking and confiscation of assets will apply not only to the business of oligarchs, but also to businesses that paid large taxes in Russia. The money gained from non-transparent relations with the Russian authorities and beyond is becoming increasingly toxic. To avoid falling under the millstone of sanctions and their consequences, maintain business hygiene.
2. Keep track of changes in legislation. This will help you to better plan your activities in the face of uncertainty.
3. Think globally, act locally. For many businesses, the war was not only a painful blow, but also an impetus to enter international markets. Many restrictions and barriers have been removed for Ukrainian goods. Take advantage of this opportunity.
