The Canadian parliament may pass a law on freezing and confiscating assets linked to Russia that have been sanctioned

This was reported by Reuters.

"As for sanctions against Russia, I hope that my bill will be passed in the coming days. For the first time in Canada's history, it contains provisions that will allow us to confiscate and freeze sanctioned assets," said Chrystia Freeland, Minister of Finance of Canada.

She noted that funds need to be found to rebuild Ukraine, and confiscated Russian assets should be the most appropriate source of such funding.
