On 24 February, the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine initiated the seizure of assets of Russia and Belarus (individuals and legal entities) worth UAH 44 billion. This was reported by the BES press service
‘The BES detectives are conducting pre-trial investigations in 22 criminal proceedings on offences in the economic sphere, most often tax evasion,’ the statement said.
The most significant seized assets include
- wagons and goods and materials in wagons worth about UAH 19 billion
- assets of a financial institution - UAH 12.8 billion,
- the assets of a petrol station network are estimated at UAH 2 billion,
- several shopping centres worth UAH 1.3 billion and others.
"The Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine has identified and agreed with the relevant state authorities 23 legal entities associated with the Russian Federation and Belarus that it recommends to be included in the sanctions list. Two more lists of 25 and 54 business entities to which the BES recommends applying sanctions are being agreed with the relevant authorities," the bureau said.
The BES noted that currently, property with an estimated value of UAH 1 billion has been transferred to the ARMA, of which UAH 238 million has already been sold to the state.
As a reminder, analysts recently prepared a list of 17488 companies with Russian owners. In particular, it includes Brocard-Ukraine, pharmaceutical distributor Venta Ltd, Kryukiv Carriage Works, tour operator TUI, Greenfield tea and Jardin coffee producer, Yermolino semi-finished products plant, and Jupiter 9 Agroservice.
