The Government Committee returned the draft State Anti-Corruption Program for additional approval procedures
The Committee obliged the NACP to consult with the government agencies that had expressed their comments. Among these bodies are those that are currently unformed or understaffed (HQCJ and HCJ), so they cannot take an official position.
The State Anti-Corruption Program is an important document that will allow the implementation of Ukraine's anti-corruption strategy.
The Institute of Legislative Ideas and a dozen civil society organizations call on the government to approve the SACP for 2023-2025, preventing distortion of its content and not violating the law and Ukraine's obligations to international partners.
“Perhaps, this is the most detailed and well-grounded document in the history of Ukraine that can solve a huge number of problems and close a huge number of corruption schemes... The document provides for 1730 measures to be implementedto achieve these goals. These are specific measures. Specific steps and sources of funding. Performance indicators for government agencies. We need to see real changes in the field of anti-corruption,” said Tetyana Khutor, head of the ILI, on Pryamyi TV channel.
In fact, without the adoption of this document, a transparent and effective recovery of Ukraine is impossible. This is one of the simplest requirements that the European Union has set for us.
“The Institute of Legislative Ideas has been working with anti-corruption expertise of legislation for more than seven years. We have analyzed more than 8,000 draft laws and draft acts of local governments. Therefore, we can clearly say that this document can change the situation. It can close a lot of corruption loopholes,” added Khutor.
Together with the NACP Public Council and the public, we called for the document to be approved without distortion ofits content. See the full text of the statement here.
