Chairman of the ILI, Tetyana Khutor, joined the panel discussion at the event
On September 20, Kyiv hosted the ninth Festival of Thoughts – an intellectual platform that traditionally brings together thought leaders to discuss the “uncomfortable, invisible, and dangerous” and to engage in open dialogue about the challenges shaping our future. One of the main focuses this year was anti-corruption as a key condition for Ukraine’s movement toward the European Union.
At the panel discussion “Ukraine on the Path to the EU: A Course on Anti-Corruption”, Tetiana Khutor, Chairwoman of the Institute of Legislative Ideas, joined colleagues from the Centre of Policy and Legal Reform, the RPR Coalition, and representatives of the Embassy of Estonia to discuss:
✔️ the role of anti-corruption reforms in Ukraine’s EU accession process;
✔️ how international partners and donors respond to controversial legislative initiatives;
✔️ whether rolling back reforms could affect the funding allocated to Ukraine.
For ILI, this discussion reaffirmed once again: European integration is impossible without transparent and resilient institutions. That is why our team consistently contributes to the law-making process aimed at delivering real change, not merely the appearance of reform.
🤝 We are grateful to the East SOS team, who organized the Festival, for providing a space for professional dialogue on the challenges that will define the country’s future.
