On 10 July, a meeting was organised by the Humanitarian and Information Policy Committee. The meeting was held to discuss the analysis and synchronisation of Ukrainian legislation in the field of cultural heritage protection

The meeting was also attended by the representative of the ILI - Anastasia Petsenchuk, as the ILI won the competitive selection from the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (hereinafter - UNESCO) to reform the legislation in the field of cultural heritage protection.

At the meeting, the expert stressed the importance of uniting efforts around this initiative on the part of government agencies and international organisations, and thanked the Committee and UNESCO for their assistance. In addition, Anastasia Petsenchuk emphasised the great responsibility of the ILI within this crucial project.

‘We need to carry out a comprehensive analysis of the legislation governing the field of cultural heritage and develop qualitative changes in a very short time,’ the analyst said.

As of today, the project is at the first stage, which is the systematisation and comprehensive analysis of laws and regulations governing the cultural heritage sector. Anastasia Petsenchuk assured that despite the delay in the start of the project, the ILI will make every effort to complete its tasks in a timely and, most importantly, high-quality manner.
