We invite you to join a discussion dedicated to the introduction of a national sanctions permit mechanism
The Institute of Legislative Ideas, together with the Ukrainian Bar Association's Committee on Sanctions and Economic Security, invites participation in the expert event "Introduction of a Sanctions Permit Mechanism as a Necessary Component of Ukraine's Sanctions Policy Reform."

Format: in-person (Kyiv), with an online stream also available. The venue will be communicated to registered participants.
Event description: Sanctions permits (licenses) are an important instrument of sanctions policy that allows, in exceptional cases, actions restricted by sanctions to be carried out – in particular for humanitarian needs, the fulfillment of contractual obligations, or the protection of critically important interests.
ILI has conducted research into sanctions permit mechanisms in the EU, the United States, and the United Kingdom. Drawing on international experience and taking into account Ukraine's European integration path, ILI think tank experts have developed proposals for the introduction of a national sanctions permit mechanism.
Following the presentation of the research, participants will discuss the prospects for introducing such a mechanism in Ukraine, the role of state authorities, the criteria for granting permits, and safeguards against potential abuse.
