ILI and partners will hold a training for human rights organizations on the process of obtaining disability status for war victims

How can civilian victims of Russian aggression be helped to document their health damage and obtain the status of a person with war-related disability? Thousands of civilians wounded as a result of the war are facing legal gaps, complex bureaucratic procedures, and a lack of systematic support.

On June 17, the Institute of Legislative Ideas, together with the civil society organization Desyate Kvitnya (April Tenth) and with the support of the International Renaissance Foundation, will hold an online training for specialists from human rights organizations to strengthen their knowledge and provide practical tools for competent case support.

During the training, participants will:

  • become familiar with the five-stage procedure for obtaining the status of a person with war-related disability;
  • work through real cases and the typical challenges victims face at each stage of the procedure.

A separate session will feature a presentation on the algorithm for submitting applications under category A2.3 "Serious Personal Injuries" by representatives of the Register of Damage caused by the Aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine (Register of Damage for Ukraine – RD4U).

Date: June 17, 2026

Time: 10:30-13:00
