In response to the Russian aggression, the Register of Damages Caused by the Aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine (RD4U) was established as the first component of the future international compensation mechanism to document and systematise information on damages caused to Ukraine, its citizens and legal entities.
The register is already operational, with new rules for submitting claims and new categories of applicants being approved.
This guide, based on the official documents of the Register posted on its website, is intended to help victims obtain clear and concise information on the possibility of filing a claim and the steps to be taken.
The publication was made by the Institute of Legislative Ideas as part of the Efficient Reparations Now project. The document was prepared with the support of the International Renaissance Foundation.
